This is a piece i did about a year ago. My scanner is a terrible contraption and did this piece no justice. but oh well, here it is in all its garbled glory.... for the time being.
Despite the bad scanning having eaten most of the shading ( .... scanners really are evil things. I would smash mine up for good if I didn't, you know, need it), there's some great evidence of muscle strucutre. Mind you, I don't know all too much about the fine details of anatomy, but that certainly looks right to me. The only thing that might need some more muscle structure is the left arm, it seems a bit too straight, especially considering how toned the other muscles are.
I love the concept of this - it's somehow peaceful, and yet it's leaving behind so much.
I love the edgy wuality of the shadows, it seems so ominous...

I noticed the left arm as well. The only stipulation being that, i would've fixed it hadnt i sprayed a clear coat over it, which i do with most of my larger pieces because they tend to go up on the wall.
What she said. Also, the head(chin)/neck junction seems a bit forced, prolonging (whatever) the jaw would help a lot I think. He look like he has a children face, but if you just put your cursor on the bottom of his chin on the small version you can get a good idea of what I mean.
Great job with shadows on the water.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
